# EXR

These preferences define the default behavior when importing EXR files. All settings can be overridden per file in the **Video Image → Source** panel.

**Playback Settings**

* **Default Playback Resolution**\
  Specifies the resolution used for playback of EXR files.

  > Lowering this setting can improve performance at the expense of image quality.\
  > This value can also be adjusted per file in the player controls.
