# RED RAW

These preferences define the default behavior when importing RED RAW files. All options can be overridden per file in the **Video Image → Source** panel.

**Playback and Color Science**

* **Default Color Science**\
  Sets the default RED color science (IPP2 or Legacy FLUT) used for processing.
* **Default Playback Resolution**\
  Defines the playback resolution for RED RAW.

  > Lower resolutions improve playback performance at the cost of image detail.

**IPP2 Workflow Defaults**

* **Default IPP2 Color Primaries**\
  Sets the default color primaries used for IPP2 color science.
* **Default IPP2 Color Gamma**\
  Sets the default gamma curve used for IPP2 tone mapping.
* **Enable CDL**\
  Enables or disables CDL (Color Decision List) processing for IPP2 workflows.
* **3D LUT (IPP2)**\
  Sets whether an embedded or custom 3D LUT is automatically applied.
* **3D LUT Dst Color Space**\
  Sets the destination color space that the 3D LUT transforms the video into.

**Legacy Workflow Defaults**

* **Default Legacy Color Primaries**\
  Sets the default color primaries used for Legacy (FLUT) color science.
* **Default Legacy Color Gamma**\
  Sets the default gamma curve for Legacy workflows.
* **Enable Lift Gamma Gain**\
  Enables or disables Lift, Gamma, Gain (LGG) adjustment for Legacy workflows.
* **User Curves**\
  Enables or disables the use of User Curves in Legacy workflows.

**Color Level Handling**

* **Dst Color Level**\
  Defines how the video color range is handled:
  * **Full Range (Label)** – Tags as Full Range
  * **Full Range (Convert)** – Converts from Video Range to Full Range
  * **Video Range (Label)** – Tags as Video Range
  * **Video Range (Convert)** – Converts from Full Range to Video Range

**LUT Folder**

* **RED RAW LUT Folder**\
  Sets the default folder shown when selecting a LUT for RED RAW files.
